Thank you to Muriel for sharing her story on LEGEND Story. Muriel Dotta is the mother of Salomé Garnesson, a young woman who fell under the sway of her partner—a narcissistic abuser who took total control of her life in just nine months. He isolated her, monitored her every move, and gradually destroyed her psychologically before beating and strangling her to death. In 2019, Salomé’s body was found abandoned at the end of a dead-end street in Cagnes-sur-Mer; she became the 100th recorded victim of femicide that year. In 2023, her killer was sentenced to life imprisonment. In this harrowing account, Muriel reflects on the tragedy, the long journey of grief, her own recovery, and her fight to ensure her daughter’s story is never forgotten.
