The talking magpies, Heckel and Jeckle, crash a movie studio driving a papier-mache limousine, and have no problem eluding the studio watchdog by disguising themselves, at various times, as knights-in-armor, Romeo and Juliet and, then, a couple of penguins. After many defeats, the vigilant-but-dumb bulldog finally kicks them of the lot.
Heckle and Jeckle, the world's most famous talking Magpies, go on a moose-hunting trip. In order to get close enough to a moose to shoot him, they combine themselves into a female(?) moose costume. But the disguise is too effective, the moose is soon in love, and it appears a union that will produce the worlds first Moosepie animal is in the offing.
The Talking Magpies, Heckel and Jeckel, are working as professional house-wreckers, and they run up against an escapee, wanted-criminal bulldog who is hiding out in a house they have been hired to demolish. Before the confusion and destruction that follows his discovery, the bulldog wishes he had stayed in jail.
Those rabble-rousing magpies Heckle and Jeckle are watching high-society crowds going into the theater to see a performance of "The Barber of Seville" and decide to get some culture of their own by sneaking into the show. The stage-door manager tosses them out on their first attempt, but they finally get past him, leading to a wild chase as the opera is underway.
Oswald is off to see his sweetheart when he is passed by a rival in a faster car. He takes the lead, though, when both drivers encounter a mud puddle; Oswald isn't afraid to get a little dirty, while his competitor is. Oswald arrives and serenades his love, hampered by the animals in the yard. The rival shows up and they fight over the girl, during which time she slips away with a third suitor.
Entrepreneurs Heckle & Jeckle are pursued throughout a building construction site by the bulldog watchman...
After a rainstorm ruins their picnic, Heckle & Jeckle make a wish on a wishbone that it will never rain again. Their wish only leads to a massive drought that dries up all of the water in the world. Realizing their mistake, the pair invent a makeshift helicopter and head for the clouds. They cause the clouds fight amongst themselves and rain is finally produced. The magpies return home to a hero's well-deserved- and wet- parade.
Popeye drops a TV off at the orphanage; the program that comes on is a boxing match he's supposed to be in, so he dashes off. The fight is against the champ, who is huge. Popeye gets pummelled in the first round, but his fighting spirit materializes and advises him to outwit his opponent. In the second round, he does so. The champ then uses a light socket to "burn out" Popeye so he can't outthink him, and (as with the rest of this pun-filled match) "knocks him cold", turning him into a block of ice. The orphans feed Popeye his spinach right through the TV set, and he comes back to knock the champ through the screen.
Popeye's been feeding a turkey in his backyard; it's Thanksgiving day, and his (3) nephews are all set to turn the turkey into the main course. But Popeye can't bring himself to do the deed, so he tells them a story about the time he was a pilgrim and a turkey saved his life. Popeye is hunting the turkey, which keeps outsmarting him; he finally corners the bird, which gives him a sob story about being too scrawny to eat. Popeye gives him some spinach, but before the bird can eat it, Popeye is captured by Indians. They tie him to a stake. The turkey, watching, remembers the spinach, which turns the turkey into an eagle. He swoops down, carries off the first batch of Indians and throws them into a mountain; he turns another batch into a totem pole. Popeye finishes his story and sees the boys missing; dinner time! They prepare to serve the turkey his big plate of spinach.
Popeye, Olive, and Swee'pea take their pig, Smedley, to the fair to enter it in the livestock show. While Popeye is distracted, Swee'pea crawls off following his balloon and narrowly avoids all sorts of peril (that Popeye, close behind, manages to get caught by).
Popeye and Olive are on vacation at Lake Narrowhead. Olive wants to take part in athletic activities, while Popeye just wants to rest (particularly since he had to substitute for one wheel of their sad excuse of a car). Olive goes off for athletic instruction while Popeye sleeps until he sees that the instructor is Bluto, and he's taking a personal interest in Olive.
